Full Itinerary

The Hell’s Kitchen Excursion, also known as the Marafa Grand Canyon, is a thrilling experience that allows you to explore one of Kenya’s most fascinating natural wonders. Located about an hour and a half’s drive from Watamu, the Marafa Depression is a natural canyon formed by years of erosion caused by rain and wind. It features sheer cliffs, colorful canyons, and unique geological formations.

The excursion begins with a walk through the savannah, where you can admire breathtaking views and local wildlife.

Then, when you reach the Marafa Depression, you will begin to descend along a series of paths that will take you through the deep gorges of the canyon.

During the excursion, you will have the opportunity to explore the caves, tunnels, and crevices of the canyon, admiring the extraordinary rock formations and the variety of colors that change depending on the sunlight.

You will be accompanied by expert guides who will show you the highlights and provide information on its geology and history.

Additionally, there are also some souvenir shops along the route where you can purchase handmade items from local residents.

Departure in the early afternoon, tour of the gorges, sunset, return to your accommodation around 7.15 pm.
