08:30 AM – Pickup & Departure: You are collected from your hotel and transferred to the boat launch site. Most tours use traditional dhows or glass-bottom boats.
09:00 AM – Watamu Marine National Park: The boat enters the Marine Park. On the way, there is often a search for dolphins (especially common between December and April).
10:30 AM – Snorkeling & Marine Viewing: You’ll stop at coral gardens to snorkel among colorful reef fish and sea turtles. Those who prefer to stay dry can view the marine life through the glass bottom of the boat.
12:00 PM – Sudi Island: The boat heads to Sudi Island a beautiful island
01:00 PM – Seafood Lunch: A freshly prepared Swahili-style lunch is served on the island. This typically includes grilled fish, prawns, lobster (depending on the package), coconut rice, and seasonal tropical fruits.
02:30 PM – Mida Creek & Mangroves: The afternoon often includes a slow cruise through Mida Creek. You can explore the mangrove forests, which are home to various bird species like pink flamingos and herons. Some tours offer optional rides in local dugout canoes (mtumbwi).
04:00 PM – Return Journey: The boat sails back to the mainland, providing a final chance to enjoy the coastal views and sunbathe on the deck.
04:30 PM – Hotel Drop-off: Arrival back at your accommodation.
